Icarus Week 253 replaces radiation effects; fishing changes are still to come

Icarus changes its radiation effects in Week 253. Spatial clouds replace the previous domes, covering both larger radioactive areas on Elysium and local radiation from items stored in chests or dropped on the ground.

A clearer warning with less obstruction

A scaling effect around the screen corners shows radiation affecting the character. RocketWerkz wants persistent effects to communicate danger without obscuring too much of the view. The report does not provide new thresholds for safe radiation exposure.

The patch notes also report fixes for RIFT sandworms failing to spawn, sandworm objectives incorrectly appearing complete, and trapped kiwis attempting to eat unreachable plants.

The fishing changes are a preview

The studio plans to revisit the Fishing Capture UI the following week and add comfort bonuses for aquariums and displayed fish. These plans are separate from the changes already delivered in Week 253.
